BUILDING FUTURE TALENT FOR SUCCESS, AT LBS

The Essential Sales Management programme is a twelve-month course recognised by the Institute of Sales Management. It aims to support talented individuals in effectively managing a portfolio of customers and has recently been successfully completed by four employees of LBS Builders Merchants.

The LBS Group attended the prestigious BMN Awards where Ryan Thomas walked away with a very deserving Trainee of the Year Award after undertaking the Essential Sales Management Programme delivered by Sue Reed through the BMF. His performance, results and presentation skills were outstanding, exceeding all expectations. He is confident, he is credible and he is professional.

MGM TIMBER ON THE COMMERCIAL FAST TRACK

MGM Timber are an Independent Timber Merchant selling timbers, doors, floors, kitchens, ironmongery and sheet material from 15 Branches across Scotland with over 230 staff.

The Commercial Fast Track programme was attended by six internal sales members and

two kitchen designers from MGM.

FIVE SHORTLISTED IN BMF TRAINING AWARDS

The Builders Merchants Federation has announced the five companies that have been nominated for the title BMF Training Company of the Year 2023. They are Haldane Fisher, Harlow Timber Group, Howarth Timber and Builders Merchants, the IBMG Group and Robert Price.

MGM Timber recently enrolled five sales colleagues in a Commercial Fast Track training programme and all five candidates are now recognised by the Institute of Sales Management, having passed the qualification - with two individuals receiving distinctions!

ATKORE TRAINING ACADEMY LAUNCHES IN WEST MIDLANDS

The West Bromwich Unistrut and Marco Training Academy consists of a Commercial Fast Track three-event program, an accredited training course with academic certification by the Institute of Sales Education. It covers various topics such as the six Steps of the sales cycle and sales commercial tactics.

TTF EFSM COURSE DELEGATES INCREASE SALES BY OVER £6M

It has been announced that delegates completing the ‘TTF Essential Foundations in Sales Management’ course have increased sales for their respective firms by well over £6 million in 2020.

The course was developed by Sue Reed of Reed Consultants Ltd and is accredited by the Institute of Sales Management giving delegates a world-wide recognised professional qualification.

OUTSTANDING IN THEIR FIELD

Fielden Factors in Wigan have completed two days training in the BMF Excellence in Customer Service, hosted and delivered by Sue Reed.

 

The delegates were wowed by the toolbox containing all the training activities commenting "I enjoyed EVERYTHING about this course", "Great preparation by Sue and lots of handouts", and "Highly recommend this course".

Sue has been appointed to the position of an Ambassador for the BMF.  In her role Sue will visit schools and colleges to promote the BMF as well as giving media interviews to local and regional press. She will also be speaking at recruitment events and attend exhibition events such as the National Apprenticeship Week. Sue said "Experience of working with one of the top UK builders merchants and training BMF members, enables me to promote what a great industry this is to work in."

In 2018 The Institute of Sales Management (ISM) commissioned their first Stress in Sales survey which gave insight into how ISM members experience stress within their organisations.

BUILDING FIRM FOUNDATIONS

The Essential Foundations in Sales Management programme, has been rolled out within Howarth Timber. The first group of graduates from the business, successfully presented their Project 1 results to senior managers consisting of four area managers, the Commercial Director, the marketing team and the National Sales Administrator.  The judges were highly impressed with both the results and their return on investment.

The event is a magical step back in time with visitors embracing the experience by dressing for the occasion.  It really is a most exceptional experience with incredible views of the cars hurtling down the track.  A quintessentially British day out!

As an ISM mentor, Sue was once again invited to judge at the annual BESMA awards - this year presiding over the ‘under 50 team members’ category.  Along with Astrid Ennis, one of Sue’s long term consortium partners, they listened closely to how the final six shortlisted groups had succeeded in their sales endeavours, before reaching their final decision.

Reed Consultants recently delivered the ’Uncover the Leader in You’ programme and were delighted when five managers met all of the requirements set by their HR Director, Institute of Builders Merchants and the course administrators. Each manager was successful in being awarded IoBM Certificates.

One of Britain’s leading merchants, Howarth Timber, recently conducted a transformation of their National Sales function. As a result they required a sustainable development programme for their annual Graduate Sales intake as well as their External Sales teams. It was essential that the programme was bespoke and designed with specific industry knowledge.
