ISM PROGRAMME LEADS TO INCREASED SALES OF OVER £750,000

The Howarth Timber ISM Programme has now completed it’s second major milestone and as a direct result it has led to increased sales of over £750,000. This is an outstanding achievement and is a credit to all involved.

Fielden Factors in Wigan have completed two days training in the BMF Excellence in Customer Service, hosted and delivered by Sue Reed.
The delegates were wowed by the toolbox containing all the training activities commenting "I enjoyed EVERYTHING about this course", "Great preparation by Sue and lots of handouts", and "Highly recommend this course".
Sue has been appointed to the position of an Ambassador for the BMF. In her role Sue will visit schools and colleges to promote the BMF as well as giving media interviews to local and regional press. She will also be speaking at recruitment events and attend exhibition events such as the National Apprenticeship Week. Sue said "Experience of working with one of the top UK builders merchants and training BMF members, enables me to promote what a great industry this is to work in."
Sue has been nominated in the 2020 BMJ Industry Awards for the Industry Personality of the year award. A person - merchant, manufacturer or distributor - who has worked tirelessly to raise the profile of the industry and improve the the supply chain to boost their company and the work they do with their customers and suppliers.
Sue will be present at this year's TTF UK Softwood Conference, where she will be on hand to discuss the range of programmes and Pick & Mix approach of Reed Consultants courses. Please make sure if you are going to the event you pop along to say hi.
Sue will talk at the Wood Protection Association's 2020 conference about her work with the Timber Trade Federation; developing training programmes for employees of timber merchants and distributors to better sell the benefits of wood. As sustainability and circular economy strategies increasingly influence materials buying policies, how a consistent approach to the environmental benefits of wood and treated wood is vital to success.

The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) has introduced a new sales talent development programme, delivered by Reed Consultants and accredited by the Institute of Sales Management (ISM), to support individuals looking to successfully develop and manage a portfolio of customers.
Reed Consultants have been working with Kent Blaxill and six of their employees who have now successfully completed their management Essentials programme. The six delegates are pictured here being presented with their certificates by Simon Blaxill.
Reed Consultants have been working closely with Realworld Consulting Ltd (www.rworld.co.uk), to develop a sales tool kit questionnaire and talent development plan for Sales Graduates attending the Essential Sales Foundation Programme. The questionnaire and development plan allows graduates to review their current sales skills within the eight sales competency framework.
The Essential Foundations in Sales Management programme, has been rolled out within Howarth Timber. The first group of graduates from the business, successfully presented their Project 1 results to senior managers consisting of four area managers, the Commercial Director, the marketing team and the National Sales Administrator. The judges were highly impressed with both the results and their return on investment.
Sue and Rod recently entertained selected clients at Goodwood Revival. The event is a magical step back in time with visitors embracing the experience by dressing for the occasion. It really is a most exceptional experience with incredible views of the cars hurtling down the track. A quintessentially British day out!
As an ISM mentor, Sue was once again invited to judge at the annual BESMA awards - this year presiding over the ‘under 50 team members’ category. Along with Astrid Ennis, one of Sue’s long term consortium partners, they listened closely to how the final six shortlisted groups had succeeded in their sales endeavours, before reaching their final decision.
Reed Consultants recently delivered the ’Uncover the Leader in You’ programme and were delighted when five managers met all of the requirements set by their HR Director, Institute of Builders Merchants and the course administrators. Each manager was successful in being awarded IoBM Certificates.
One of Britain’s leading merchants, Howarth Timber, recently conducted a transformation of their National Sales function. As a result they required a sustainable development programme for their annual Graduate Sales intake as well as their External Sales teams. It was essential that the programme was bespoke and designed with specific industry knowledge.
